The Term Refurbished laptop or notebook means: The laptop is not new and has gone through a refurbishment programme either in house or at the manufactures factory. Most of our laptops have been refurbished by us and have come from a number of sources such as… 1.End of lease (ex-corporate) the laptops have been fully cleaned, repaired and tested ready for sale   2. Trade in programs, where the laptops have been traded in for a new machine direct with the manufacturer, we then check the refurbished item and prepare it for sale. 3. Ex demo the laptop box has been opened demonstrated and then sent back to the manufacturer where it is tested and re setup for sale then sent to us to remarket. 4. We also have refurbished laptops that were originally customer returns. These laptops were either mistake purchases or laptops that were shipped with a foreseen minor fault. Due to these laptops being returned, they are put through rigorous testing to diagnose any fault. Anything faulty is replaced and the laptop is refurbished back to an ‘as new’ standard. It is said that an as new laptop is usually more reliable than a standard new model as the level of testing it goes through is far more stringent than the usual manufacturer tests. Some of our stock is also ex display laptops from some leading retailers and these are also in brilliant condition.

We are closely link with some of the major manufacturers and retailers and the trade in program seems to be getting more and more popular. We just can’t believe some of these laptops, the spec and condition of these laptops once refurbished are like new.

 We will always state the condition of the laptops and mention if there are faults or if the product is in better condition than expected.

Portable IT Refurbishment process is very in-depth and our refurbished laptops from all sources go through this procedure.

1.      The products are book in and then a visual inspect is done noting any cosmetic faults if any. Also condition, second hand, refurbished, ex demo, open box, As New.

2.      Robust diagnostic software is run on the machines testing thoroughly the Graphics, system board, hard dive, memory, all ports etc…

3.      The hard drive is then data wiped and the original software is preloaded. (Common laptop operating software tends to be  Windows XP, Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista Business, Windows 7 and Windows 7 Pro)

4.      The Software is then tested and upgrades installed when needed.

5.      When the machine is sold the laptop is check again to make sure what is ordered is exactly what is going out

We do sell our refurbished laptops to bulk trade buyers where Operating systems may not be installed.
