VAT Margin Scheme
At The Laptop Centre we are pleased to be able to offer our customers second-hand laptops for extremely competitive prices. One tool that allows us to be able to offer great pricing is the VAT Margin Scheme. Essentially, when we purchase some of the goods we sell on our website we don't have to pay VAT, meaning we can pass this saving directly on to our customers.
This option is available for second-hand goods so you won't see it on anything brand new. When this kind of product is bought, our business doesn't have the option of reclaiming VAT (20% of the item sale price). The result of this is that anything eligible for this deal keeps it's reduced price tag once it goes on sale on our website.
The way to make the most of these offers is to choose second-hand and refurbished listings, and then keep an eye out for our 'NO VAT' emblem. Indicating it on the individual product page means that you can be sure you're getting a bargain on whatever you're browsing.
Although this is of course a real benefit, if you are VAT registered please note that just like us you won't be able to reclaim that 20% when doing your VAT return. Of course, if you require it we can provide an invoice showing the figures broken down, but this section will show at zero. All refurbished Apple products are included in this Margin Scheme due to the terms of the Apple Buy-Back agreement.
